My Alto Sax set up (since January, just getting to know her): Julius Keilwerth SX90R Shadow. Beechler Bellite Custom Alto Sax 7 mouthpiece. I use various reeds, constantly trying new ones. I typically use softer reeds currently in the case: Vandoren Jazz #2 1/2, Rico Select Jazz #2 1/2, Légère CLASSIC #2 3/4

My Soprano Sax set up (since 1990) Paris Selmer Mark VI. Selmer Paris Classic Metal E mouthpiece. Rico Select Jazz #3 filed. I have played this set up for 30 years, it sounds amazing so why change?

My Tenor Sax set up (since 2002): Julius Keilwerth SX90 Black Nickel, Julius Keilwerth Sterling Silver Kirk Whalum Signature Neck. BARI Joshua Redman 6* Gold Plated Metal Mouthpiece. Vandoren V16 or Java #3. This horn is the one I have messed with the most, and now even play the most. I recently had the horn in the shop to have the tone holes leveled and changed the pads to Black Kangaroo Leather with metal resonators at Dr. Note in Overland Park, KS. The horn has never sounded better and I can hardly lay it down at gigs anymore! I love the Kirk Whalum neck- it adds an incredible sound as well. What can I say- I absolutely love this horn!
